Our Mission
Our mission is to cultivate leadership, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, service, and purpose in children and youth while building bridges for a global community. We empower every young person to recognize the impact they can make through their unique talents, skills and personality, fostering a sense of belonging, confidence, resilience, and genuine happiness. By encouraging growth into adulthood through giving—within each individual’s abilities and capacities—we inspire a generation committed to making the world better, one contribution at a time.
-

Leadership
“Empowering skills within you and empowering others“
SAYLC helps youth step into leadership through real experiences: organizing fundraisers, working as a team, and taking responsibility for meaningful projects.
-

Entrepreneurship
“Fostering Financial Literacy Innovation Creativity”
Through planning events and leading initiatives, youth learn how to take ideas and turn them into action while staying connected to their community.
-

Philanthropy
“Impactful Giving in Communities“”
We believe even the smallest actions, from local initiatives, pediatric medical, and hospitals to pet/animal initiatives to international natural disaster relief and medical needs, lead to significant change. -

Service & Purpose
“Mindful and Meaningful Living”
Service is at the center of everything we do. Each project gives youth the opportunity to understand real needs and respond with care, effort, and intention.
-

Building Bridges for A Global Community
“Together for a Global Community“
SAYLC connects youth across cultures and communities, supporting causes locally and globally.
Who We Are
SAYLC brings young people together to take action where it matters most
SAYLC was founded in 2023 at the Austin Buddhist Center from a simple yet powerful vision: every youth carries deep potential and a natural desire to belong with their unique talents, skills, kindness, and empathy — to a family, a neighborhood, a community, and ultimately to a world that honors human dignity and shared responsibility.
What we do
We bring young leaders from Austin and surrounding areas together to learn, create, and collaborate.
We see needs and causes with local, national and international initiatives—we grow into projects that matter beyond city limits with no boundaries.
We teach civic empathy, practical leadership skills, and systems thinking so participants can design solutions that respect people and the planet.
Why it matters
Belonging fuels resilience. When children/youth feel seen and respected, they engage more deeply and lead more confidently.
Community-rooted action scales. Small steps—dreams, visions, ideas, and thoughtful conversations that add up to measurable change.
Global understanding starts local. Exposing youth to diverse perspectives and collaborative projects prepares them to tackle complex issues with humility and creativity.
How we work
Programs are experiential: team efforts, service projects, peer mentorship, and partnership-driven initiatives.
Collaborative network, community leaders, nonprofits, and international partners co-design opportunities that matter.
Outcomes-focused: we measure growth in leadership skills, civic engagement, and the real-world impact of our youth initiatives.
SAYLC is a space where curiosity meets commitment and compassion meets action.
One child/youth, one idea, one initiative at a time: that’s how we change the world.
